Why Vernal Pools Are Cool!
When we protect vernal pools, we help protect the health of our whole community.

🐸  NURSERIES FOR WILDLIFE  Home to salamanders, frogs, and fairy shrimp, who depend on these pools to grow and thrive

🚫 SAFE HAVENS

No fish live here, so eggs and young are protected from many predators

💧 NATURES'S WATER FILTERS

hey help clean water and keep ecosystems healthy

🌊FLOOD HELPERS
They soak up rainwater like sponges, helping reduce flooding

🐦 REST STOPS for migratory birds Traveling birds rely on these pools for food and energy during long journeys

🌳 PART OF A BIGGER WEB. They support birds, forests, and many other living things—including us

How fun was that!?

Celebrated Earth Week a super fun community-wide game inspired by THE NOISY PUDDLE. THANK YOU Concord for jumping in, for becoming a discovery trail of frogs, fairy shrimp, salamanders for the little ones, and most importantly, for raising awareness about the importance of vernal pools, vital ecosystems we all benefit from and can all protect!
