TAPPED IN: Moving Hearts and Minds Through Art and Science
What: Science-Art Installation
Where: Umbrella Arts Center
I co-curated TAPPED IN with artist Stephanie Marlin Curiel to explore what happens at the “edges,” where art, science, and community meet. Together, we paired ten artists with ten scientists to create installations that translated climate research into powerful visual and interactive experiences.
The exhibition combined outdoor public art with indoor gallery displays, youth docents, a Mend-a-thon, Slow Fashion Show, and a standing-room-only community panel attended by local residents, as well as state and climate leaders.
At its heart, TAPPED IN celebrated collaboration and hope in motion—because it’s the doing that brings hope. And hope is contagious.
MONUMENTAL (RE)MAKE Community Art
What: Collaborative Sculpture
Where: Concord Free Public Library
As part of Concord’s 250th celebration, this town-wide project invites residents of all ages to help rebuild The Minute Man (Daniel Chester French’s iconic sculpture) using 3D printers across schools, art centers, and libraries. Co-designed with Linda Booth and Concord Free Public Library's Make Space, the Monumental (Re)Make honors local history while demonstrating the power of community collaboration and sustainable technology.
Each participant prints and contributes PLA pieces that will be assembled into a full-scale sculpture. The project culminates with a community unveiling and traveling display celebrating both Concord’s past and its shared future.
Community Art - Family Fun Days
What: Interactive Community Art
Where: Umbrella Arts
Inspired by my picture book Apart, Together, this joyful Family Day event -- hosted by the Umbrella Arts Center -- invited children and caregivers to explore how parts come together to create something new. Participants built nests from natural materials, mixed colors to discover new shades, had fun with coloring pages and collaborated on a large community triptych painting.
The event was incredibly fun but also through hands-on play, and lots of feathers and paint, a gentle introduction to systems thinking.

What: Spring 2026 Community Art Installation
Where: Umbrella Arts
What’s Going On Here? is a three-part immersive installation that invites visitors to look closely at the often-overlooked harbingers of spring. Through art, photography, sculpture, sound, and citizen-science activities, the installation transforms the Umbrella into a sensory exploration of vernal pools—nature’s microcosms of interdependence and renewal.
Together with designer Linda Ziemba and photographer Jamie Collins, our goal is to blend observation, immersion and wonder, reminding visitors that awe can lead to care, and care to action. Launching Earth Day 2026/27, this evolving project will include community workshops, soundscapes, and interactive learning for all ages.
